I hope this email finds you doing well. Our producer survey wrapped up this week, and many thanks to all of you who filled it out. We will be analyzing and reading every response—and taking them into consideration for future resources, services and ways we can better support you this year. We’ll also be contacting the lucky winners of the audit fee discount drawing later this month.
One of our farmers, Wes Jarrell, passed along this article in the New York Times about misleading food labels (featuring another farmer in the AGW family, Greg Gunthorp). Whether or not the author realized it, they were making a great case for third party certification. Big Food greenwashing industrial products is a problem, but a big part of the solution is YOU, our certified producers, showing there are truly independent sustainable farmers out there, and that AGW certification is the way to find them (and their products!). Thanks for being our answer to the question consumers ask us all the time: ‘How do I find food I can trust?’

AGW Submits Public Comments to USDA
We recently submitted comments to the USDA on “Investments and Opportunities for Meat and Poultry Processing Infrastructure” as they seek to expand and diversify meat and poultry processing capacity and make the supply chain more resilient. You can read our comments here. The deadline has passed but comments can still be submitted.
