Dear Dennis,

This week, we’re sharing our collected COVID-19 Resources, as parts of the country experience dramatic increases in cases and hospitalizations. Please read on for those resources and take care in the coming weeks. Don’t forget, we’re launching a survey in the coming week to learn more about you and the farms and businesses we serve. Taking the survey not only enters you to win a great prize but helps us know how to better support you with services and resources. Watch your email for more!

Featured Resources: COVID-19 Farmer Resources
Some parts of the country are experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases again due to the spread of the Delta variant. Need help navigating? Don’t forget our COVID-19 Resources page, and always be in touch if you need assistance.

For AGW-certified producers: National and Regional Online Shopping Pages
Are you offering online order with area pickup/delivery or national shipping? Make sure customers can find you! Check out your listings on this page (by choosing regional or national), and if you’d like to make any updates or add your farm and products to the pages, please contact your regional coordinator.

For AGW-certified producers: Removing Livestock
Sometimes it is necessary to remove your animals from pasture for welfare reasons. AGW’s farm standards account for this reality (see section 7.5). There are two types of exclusion: Emergency and Planned. For an operation to maintain compliance, however, you must be able to justify removal based on one or the other. In this blog post, hear from AGW’s Director of Compliance, Tim Holmes, on the two types of removal.

Updates From Your Peers
Please catch the latest press mentions about AGW-certified producers and the program below. This week,

  • Talequah Daily Press covered an upcoming animal husbandry and herd health class at Shepherd’s Cross in Oklahoma. Shepherd’s Cross raises Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW sheep for meat and wool along with Certified Grassfed by AGW beef cattle.
  • South West Farmer covered the recent certification of New Macdonalds Farm in the UK.
  • SentinelSource.com features AGW-certified Archway Farm in Keene, NH in an article about area farms participating in the Monadnock Farm Tour.
