Dear Dennis,

January passed in a blink and with a wintry blast. We hope you are managing the weather coming along with this season; as always if there’s anything we can do please get in touch. Read on for news about upcoming events along with an agroforestry grant and farmer resources. Stay warm and thanks for being part of the AGW community.

AGW at Natural Products Expo West

In early March, AGW will have team members in Anaheim, CA at Natural Products Expo West (the major natural foods tradeshow for North America). Our presence at the event has greatly expanded this year to include attendance at Climate Day, organized by the Climate Collaborative, showcasing AGW-certified products at two show booths, participating in a panel discussion called “Consumer Values are Reshaping Meat and Dairy. Are you ready?,” and attending multiple special events for regenerative agriculture, including Why Regenerative’s RegenerativeExpo. We look forward to talking with many retailers, buyers and brands in the natural products food industry—making market connections and celebrating what makes AGW-certified farms and products special. Watch our social media to keep up on the event or reach out to meet with us at the event!

Grant Opportunity: 2026 Catalyzing Agroforestry Grant Program

The 2026 Catalyzing Agroforestry Grant Program (CAGP) provides direct financial support and technical assistance for farmers and landowners wanting to join the effort to mitigate climate change through agroforestry. The grant program focuses on implementing the following agroforestry practices: alley cropping, forest farming, riparian forest buffers, silvopasture, urban food forests, and windbreaks. Learn more and apply by March 3.

Featured Resource: Proof not Pretense

Today’s food system is dominated by fossil fuels, hidden costs, and marketing spin—leaving shoppers confused and real sustainability buried under buzzwords. If we want a food system that truly supports farmers, animals, and the planet, we need verified standards, not empty claims. For more on this topic, see Proof Not Pretense, a recent blog post and Sustainable Farming article by contributor Errol Schweizer.

Connect within the AGW Farmer Network: AGW’s Farm to Farm Sales

AGW’s Farm-to-Farm Sales service offers AGW‑certified farmers and ranchers a free platform to advertise livestock, forage or feed, equipment, or pasture for lease. It’s a great way to connect with other producers—learn more and place an ad today.
