It’s Climate Day at Natural Products Expo West

Dear Dennis,

This week, members of the AGW team are in Anaheim, CA at Natural Products Expo West. This is the major natural foods tradeshow for North America, and Climate Day, organized by Climate Collaborative, kicks off the event. We have been planning for months around how to maximize our presence at the show, highlight AGW- certified producers, producer groups and supply chains, and focus the conversation on sustainable solutions in agriculture. Since today is Climate Day, we want to take the opportunity to look at the relationship between food and climate—and find reasons to celebrate hope and positive action. We hope you’ll join in the conversation too.

If you’re attending Expo West…

Come say hello! AGW will be tabling today at Climate Day (check your program for details) and at the Fresh Ideas Marketplace. We will make rounds during the tradeshow to support AGW-certified farms and businesses (such as California Olive Ranch, Zack’s Mighty, El Nacho, and more), talk with brands interested in certification and share how third-party verified, high-welfare, regenerative farming methods benefit us all.

Fresh off the Press

While regenerative label claims continue to infiltrate the marketplace, Certified Regenerative by AGW is one of the few verified labels that actually measures emissions—and supports farms in reducing them. We’re excited to share the recent news that Certified Regenerative by AGW was approved as a regenerative certification program for Whole Foods Market suppliers. Additionally, AGW has been working with California Olive Ranch (COR) and recently certified the COR-managed farms in the Certified Regenerative by AGW program, bringing more than 4,600 acres under verified regenerative production. The announcementmarks the first phase of the company’s ambitious multi-year transition to certified regenerative practices, with plans to certify the remaining grower-partner farms in the coming years.

The Connection between Food and Climate

What we grow and eat has tremendous impact on our climate and environment, and that impact can be positive or negative. AGW exists to support farmers and brands making positive impacts and to help people find their products. Here are a few relevant resources to the conversation about the importance of rooting sustainability on-farm:
