Dear Dennis,

There’s a lot going on right now. Winter storms are forecasted to bring ice and snow to portions of North America, the political and economic landscape brings new information daily, and we know that farming never stops. There’s a lot to take in, so we are keeping this update brief and sharing the latest news from AGW.

AGW collaborates with Whole Foods Market to validate regenerative claims

Certified Regenerative by AGW is now an approved regenerative certification program for Whole Foods Market suppliers. The established foods retailer is expanding the number of approved third-party regenerative agriculture certification programs to facilitate increased accountability and transparency for regenerative farming practices. This is a great time to get certified, so please get in touch (info) if you’d like to learn more.

AGW at Natural Products Expo West

In early March, AGW will have team members in Anaheim, CA at Natural Products Expo West (the major natural foods tradeshow). We will be attending Climate Day, organized by the Climate Collaborative, showcasing AGW products and talking with retailers, buyers, brands and folks in the food industry about certifying their products and supply chains. Will you be there? Know someone there we should meet? Let us know so we can connect!

New Crisis Hotline for Canadian Farmers

Last week the Canadian Centre for Agricultural Wellbeing announced the launch of the National Farmer Wellness Network (NFWN) Crisis Line, 1-866-FARMS01 (1-866-327-6701), an initiative designed to address the unique mental health challenges faced by Canada’s farmers, farm families, and agricultural workers. This program provides tailored mental health support delivered by licensed professionals, ensuring farmers receive care tailored to their needs.

REMINDER: Labeling Assistance Grants

Making label updates in 2025? AGW is now offering labeling grants to support producers in the process of incorporating AGW logos on their products (ex: label printing costs, branded egg carton purchases, slaughter plant fees for adding AGW logos to label, etc.). The maximum grant is $500 per operation and is only available for animal products holding AGW certifications marketed in the U.S. and Canada. Operations must be certified and in good standing to receive funding, and funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Marketing Services Coordinator, Callie Casteel at callie for information on how to apply.
