Dear Dennis,

The way we farm and eat can have a profoundly positive impact on the planet we share. As Earth Day approaches, we are excited to share that we will be launching a special campaign on April 22nd to support the update of our indispensable guide, Food Labels Exposed. This guide has been a trusted tool for consumers since its latest major update in 2018 (and the many years prior), providing clarity on the often-confusing terms and claims found on food packaging. But in this rapidly evolving food system, things have changed! New labels, tweaks to existing ones (some good, some not so good)—and we need to update our guide to make sure that consumers are armed with the latest information. If you’d like to support this project by spreading the word with your network, be on the lookout for shareable social media posts. If you’re interested in giving a monetary gift of support, you can do so here. Donations of $10 and up will be on the early notification list as the first to know when the new guide is available!

Thank you for reading. Below you’ll find updates from AGW about HPAI, a call for submissions for upcoming magazine articles and all the news from the AGW family of farmers.

HPAI Detection in Livestock

AGW’s technical team has been monitoring the confirmed cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in domestic livestock—most recently confirmed in dairy cattle herds. It is important for producers to have strong biosecurity measures in place to ensure the safety of their livestock. Producers in the U.S. can follow the USDA’s Animal Plant Health Inspection Service for updated information and their biosecurity recommendations. Producers in Canada, please see this page from the Government of Canada. For resources on implementing health plans that include biosecurity, visit our Farm Templatesand Plans page for a downloadable template.

REMINDER: Sustainable Farming magazine
