Dear Dennis,

Elevated temperatures continue for many, and we hope you are managing. Weather patterns continue to bring heat waves, drought, wildfires and flooding as experienced in the Northeast recently, increasingly exacerbated by climate change. We try our best to keep track of real time weather in the areas of certified producers—and reach out to check in if it seems appropriate—but we know we are not able to catch everything happening on the ground. If you ever need assistance due to weather emergencies, please get in touch. Thanks for reading, and please find updates and resources from the AGW program below.

Coming Soon: AGW Producer Survey

Our annual producer survey is right around the corner. This is one way that we check in with farmers in our network (certified or not) about ways we can better meet your needs through our services, content, marketing materials and more. We’ll be sending out a survey link in early August, so stay tuned. Thanks in advance for your feedback. We read and consider every response (and recently reported back on what we did with last year’s feedback), so we look forward to hearing from you.

New Certified Regenerative by AGW announcements

The AGW family keeps growing! In case you missed it, we recently announced the certification of info to get started.

Heat stress is a serious welfare issue for cattle that can also result in significant decreases in feed intake, milk yield, fertility and weight gain. Controlling the amount of solar radiation that cattle receive is one of the best methods of reducing heat stress. Learn more in this blog post, adapted from Summer 2022 Issue of Sustainable Farming.
