Do you have a passion for the world of animal health? Are you interested in helping the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) ensure the veterinary biologics available for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of animal diseases are pure, safe, potent, and effective?

USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is looking for a bright, energetic, and committed professional to serve as the Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB) Director. This position is located in Ames, Iowa. Relocation expenses and a recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered.

The CVB Director is responsible for all Center activities, including the evaluation, laboratory testing, licensing, inspection, and compliance of new and existing veterinary biologics used to diagnosis and immunize animals for diseases that threaten the Nation’s food resources and animal health. This work includes strategic planning, resource management, policy development, and science-based decision making. CVB scientists provide scientific and technical support to APHIS program units engaged in animal disease control and eradication programs.
