Want to Make a Difference for American Agriculture? Come Work for APHIS!

Are you passionate about animal health? Are you interested in helping the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) protect and defend the U.S. food supply and the health of our Nation’s livestock, flocks, and herds? A position with USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) as a Veterinary Medical Officer might be right for you!

In this role, you will review the health status and disease potential of livestock, pets, other animals, animal products, and animal byproducts imported and exported by the United States. You will coordinate the inspection and approval of facilities that import and export restricted animal products. Because APHIS is an emergency response agency, you may also be called to help respond to an animal health emergency during your career with APHIS. You can make a difference by joining our team!
