The Green Rural Redevelopment Organization based in Henderson has invited small farmers to a “Lunch & Learn” informational meeting next Tuesday, November 15th. We will meet for a sponsored lunch at 12 noon at: 500 N. Beckford Drive, Henderson, NC 27536. After lunch, we will tour the developing food hub.
Please RSVP me if you plan to attend.. they need an accurate head count for lunch…. for those of you from Franklin County. Christina Williams-DeBrew, Deputy Director of ‘The Green Rural Redevelopment Organization’ along with Food Hub Founders, Henry & Ardis Crews, will share their need for locally raised produce in the very close future. With the support of several major USDA Local Food grants, they are developing much needed nutritional support for the region.. which includes Franklin County.. and the Counties in the Kerr-Tar Region.
The Crews and Ms. Williams-DeBrew are especially interested in working with women farmers who can supply produce year round … but everyone is invited to attend and learn.
We will also be sharing information on a small farm educational opportunity for you…. upcoming series of informative produce/fruit/business management topics.
Email me by Friday at noon if you plan to attend. I have the County Van reserved (12 max) if you need a ride.. we will be leaving the Franklin County Ag Center at 11 a.m. My cell is 919-495-1305 if you have questions.
I look forward to seeing many of you next Tuesday in Henderson.
Take care and Be Safe.
