USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is looking for a bright, energetic, and committed professional to serve as the Insect Management and Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (IMMDL) Director in Edinburg, TX.

Are you a highly motivated and successful manager with expertise in plant health protection or related fields? If so, a career with APHIS’ Plant Protection and Quarantine as the IMMDL Director may be the job for you!

As the IMMDL Director you will lead a team of dedicated scientists and technicians in developing pest detection and management methods, mitigation strategies, and molecular diagnostic tools for insects and invertebrate pests. You will also work on biological control, area-wide pest management, sterile insect technology, and the integration of unmanned aircraft systems into APHIS’ plant health programs.
