Holiday Updates and the Latest from AGW

Dear Rebecca,

Warmest regards to you and your families as we approach the holidays. I hope everyone is staying safe and well during this time. With the holidays just around the corner, I wanted to make you aware of upcoming office closures. We will be closed for the holidays December 25, 2020 – January 1, 2021 and are already looking forward to starting a new year working hard to promote the work you do and your AGW certifications. Please see the latest updates from the AGW program and note important deadlines below.

Holiday Shopping Webinar Recap
This week, the AGW Marketing team hosted an informative webinar to let people know how and where to purchase AGW-certified products for the holidays—and how to shop and eat more sustainably. A recording of the webinar is available on AGW’s YouTube page and makes for a great tool to share with your customers! Hope you’ll check it out and share, and thanks to all of you who let us know about all the great promotions, holiday baskets, and products you’re offering this season. We’ll be sharing them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

AGW Merchandise Order Deadline
Need to stock up on AGW-branded promotional materials like brochures, sticker labels, farm signs and more before the holidays? Be sure to place your order ASAP to ensure the best chance of delivery before the holidays. Visit AGW’s Merchandise page to place your order.

Sustainable Farming Magazine Subscription Reminder
Notice to print subscribers: Beginning in 2021, we will be transferring all Sustainable Farming Magazine print subscriptions to digital UNLESS you are either an AGW-certified farm or business or you sign up to receive the hard copy ($36/year). This change helps us save valuable non-profit funds.

Featured Resource: Technical Advice Fact Sheets
AGW’s Technical Advice Fact Sheets provide practical information and support to farmers and ranchers who are participating in AGW’s programs. A collection of more than 20 fact sheets, the topics range from reducing parasite risk, castration, range management for poultry and more. The full list along with other resources from AGW’s technical team are available online.

Updates From Your Peers
We love sharing these press mentions so that we can see what other AGW-certified producers are up to across North America—and around the globe. This week,

  • Smile Politely included AGW-certified Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery’s “Cheesy Chef Box” in their food and drink gift guide for the Champaign-Urbana area.
  • The Middlebury Campus featured AGW-certified Scuttleship Farm in an article about how area farms in VT are continuing to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sincerely,
Andrew Gunther
Executive Director
