We’ll Keep Working Hard for You

Dear Rebecca,

It’s the end of a big week. I remain grateful to be able to share good news from the AGW program and from our growing family of certified farms, ranches and businesses. Most recently, we have the wonderful opportunity to work with Barn2Door, a company helping farms sell direct online. There is momentum from larger buyers recognizing importance of third-party certification in ensuring a genuinely sustainable supply chains, and we’re glad to help certified producers reach more markets. We do our very best to prepare for what is to come without knowing what’s ahead, and know that we’ll keep working hard for you, as we know that you work hard for your customers, families and communities. Please see the newest updates from the AGW program below.

Remembering Service
With the approach of Veterans Day (U.S.) and Remembrance Day (Canada and the United Kingdom), we would like to take a moment to appreciate our veteran farmers and all those who have served for liberty and justice for all. This holiday began as Armistice Day, with nations across the world joining to commemorate the end of World War I with hopes for a lasting peace. We continue to honor the service and hopes of those who came before us.

Upcoming Regenerative Webinar for Consumers
Consumers who care about their food and where it comes from are curious about the term “regenerative farming,” and we’ve created a webinar to teach them all about it. At 2pm Eastern on Tuesday, November 17, we encourage everyone to join Executive Director Andrew Gunther as he explains the basics of regenerative farming and why it’s so important. The webinar is free but spaces are limited. Would you be willing to help spread the word about this webinar with your customers and networks?

Featured Blog Post: A Brave New World
No one can predict what will happen next, but the continuing Covid pandemic means we all must continue to plan for an uncertain future. Read the article, originally published in AGW’s Sustainable Farming Magazine, Summer 2020.

Updates From Your Peers
We look forward to sharing updates from farms, ranches and businesses we certify, as another way to stay connected during this time. A recent feature in Watershed Magazine highlights the mutually supportive farmer/chef relationship between Tamarack Farms and Chef Hidde Zomer at Flame + Smith. We appreciate seeing this sense of community at the heart of a restaurant. We are loving this video from Feed the Dialogue about Master Blend Family Farms, where Ronald Simmons and his family raise AGW-certified pigs in Kenansville, NC. The Port Arthur News along with The Journal covered Georgia Native Cattle Company and their line of AGW-certified, Pineywoods beef sticks. If you have news to share, please let us know so we can help spread the word.
