Keep moving, holding steady

One foot in front of the other
Dear Rebecca,

I hope you are doing well and finding some steadiness to your days and weeks. In the midst of challenging times and a global pandemic, we are taking things one day at a time while doing our best to anticipate what’s to come so that we can (try to) plan accordingly. Just as you do on your farms and ranches and food businesses across North America, we keep going, keep moving, keep working.

As an organization, we continue the work of certifying – working hard right now to grow AGW’s Certified-Non-GMO by AGW program (currently offering a 25% off summer discount) and to welcome the Certified Regenerative by AGW pilot program into the fold. We are excited about this new addition to the AGW family and are proud to continue the work of offering the most trusted and respected certifications out there.

On a separate topic, we have been following the fires out West and also realize that hurricane season is upon us. As an important reminder to all certified producers, if you find yourself in a difficult situation based on weather related events, please info or 800-373-8806. Let us know what you need, and we will do all we can to support you.

Thank you for all that you do for your animals, land and communities. Please find more updates from the AGW program below.

Sustainable Farming Magazine: New Issue Is In!
AGW’s Sustainable Farming magazine is the world’s leading magazine for sustainable livestock production. The Summer 2020 Issue of Sustainable Farming Magazine includes articles about preparation and planning (specifically as it relates to repercussions of the pandemic), AGW’s newest certification, Certified Regenerative by AGW, along with an array of technical articles. Check out the issue online here. Notice to all print subscribers: Beginning in 2021, we will be transferring all subscriptions to digital UNLESS you sign up to receive the hard copy. This is to help us save valuable non-profit funds.

Airbnb Seeking AGW-Certified Farms
Airbnb reached out to us recently because they know that we work with some of the most innovative sustainable farms and ranches out there. As the pandemic has greatly changed how we interact with each other, they began offering more Online Experiences through their platform—and there is significant interest from people wanting to experience the farm virtually. A great opportunity for AGW-certified farms who enjoy being a virtual host, Airbnb gives you the opportunity to diversify your income, educate people about your farm and show off all of your hard work. Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll get you started!

For AGW-Certified Producers: Send us Your Coupon, We’ll Take Care of the Rest
Do you use promo codes or offer coupons for orders placed online? If so, did you know that we can spread that message widely to subscribers on our mailing list? There are consumers across the country who want to know about AGW-certified products available for purchase, and here’s a great example of how we can help. If you have a promo code or online coupon, send it to your regional coordinator and we will share through our networks.

News from the AGW Family
We were excited to share the news (also covered by PerishableNews.com) of Georgia Native Cattle Company’s new line of Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW, Certified Grassfed by AGW beef sticks, available nationwide. FarmProgress.com addresses the confusion caused by many food labels, particularly the non-GMO claim, and features AGW’s Certified Non-GMO by AGW program and the importance of third-party verification. The AGW program was also featured in Taste Cooking and Go News Today’s coverage of “The Convenient Truth of Rotisserie Chicken.” Lastly, Well + Good breaks down the meaning of greenwashing and encouragers shoppers to look for the Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW label. Do you have news from your farm, ranch or food business? We would love to know, so please send it along so we can share it with the AGW community.

Sincerely,

Andrew Gunther
Executive Director
