Our list of resources related to the pandemic can be found below. Above all, know that our team is here for you and the work you do every day.
News from the AGW Family
Last week, Christian Science Monitor wrote an article covering efforts across the country (including AGW’s “Help Farmers Feed Hungry Families” fundraiser) that help connect farmers with unsellable products with food banks that greatly need them. Lake Placid News covered the important role of the Keene Farmers Market and featured AGW-certified Blue Pepper Farm in Jay, NY. VT Digger featured Blue Ledge Farm in Salisbury, VT in a recent article about the pandemic-induced struggle facing cheesemakers. Total Food Service features Kinderhook Farm in Valatie, NY in their coverage about ways—both old and new—of procuring meat from area farms.
REMINDER: Limited time only…Discounted Rates for Certified Non-GMO by AGW
In terms of sales and market growth, Grand View Research suggests the global non-GMO food market was worth US $947.8 million in 2018 and that the market will continue to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 16.5% between 2019 to 2025. This is not a one-off prediction: leading industry analyst Technavio also predicts the global market for non-GMO products will reach US $1.1 billion by 2023. Have you been considering a non-GMO certification for your products? Do you think your feed mill would be a good fit for certification? Now is a great time to get certified since Certified Non-GMO by AGW is running a 20% discount for a limited time. If you have questions about the process, want to know more about the benefits of certifying your products as Non-GMO or explain how Certified Non-GMO by AGW stacks up to other non-GMO labels out there, please get in touch with your regional coordinator with any questions and review the discounted rates. We can’t wait to hear from you!
As the pandemic began, we wanted to share experiences, wisdom, lessons learned and messages of encouragement with producers, so we began a video interview series with AGW-certified farmers, ranchers, processors and people working in the supply chain. We are continuing these interviews as the pandemic continues and as times continue to bring challenges, new ways of reaching customers and quickly changing circumstances. Do you know an AGW-certified farm or business we should include? Are there topics you would like for us to cover? Let us know.
As always, sending care and support from our family to yours,
