ADVISORY: Secretary Perdue in Dallas TOMORROW

(Washington, D.C., May 30, 2018) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue will be in Dallas, Texas TOMORROW, Thursday, May 31st Secretary Perdue will deliver the keynote address at the World Meat Congress Plenary Session and meet with veteran farmers to announce a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas A&M “BattleGround to Breaking Ground” program. Following both events, the Secretary will hold a media availability.

Secretary Perdue to Deliver Keynote Address at the World Meat Congress Plenary Session
WHAT: Secretary Perdue delivers the keynote address at the World Meat Congress Plenary Session. Following the event, the Secretary will hold a media availability.
WHEN: TOMORROW, Thursday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. CDT
WHERE: Lone Star Ballroom A-B* of the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, 400 North Olive Street, Dallas, TX 75201
*NOTE: The media availability will take place in State Room 1 (one floor above Ballroom A-B) immediately following the Secretary’s remarks.

Secretary Perdue to Announce Veteran Farmers Program and Participate in Q&A
WHAT: Secretary Perdue will announce a partnership between USDA and Texas A&M “BattleGround to Breaking Ground” program which will assist veteran farmers in meeting loan eligibility requirements. Following the event, the Secretary will participate in the ceremonial planting of blackberry bushes with veterans and hold a media availability.
WHEN: TOMORROW, Thursday, May 31st at 11:30 a.m. CDT
WHERE: The Shed of the Dallas Farmers Market*, 920 South Harwood Street, Dallas, TX 75201
*NOTE: The ceremonial planting and media availability will take place in the Community Garden following the Secretary’s remarks.
