| Dear Rebecca,
When I think about agritourism, it can be easy to picture our farm tours. The Eastern Triangle Farm Tour will be celebrating its 10th anniversary Sept. 17-18. I love the opportunity to see where my food is grown and this year’s tour features 25 incredible, sustainable farms.
But, there is so much more to agritourism. This month’s edition is devoted to exploring agritourism’s many forms. We hope you enjoy our stories about pick-your-own farm, The Happy Berry; Great Outdoor University’s summer camp at Lomax Farm; and a Sustainable Agriculture Conference preconference bus tour to foodie paradise, Saxapahaw. Or, perhaps you want to spend the night on a farm? Check our roundup of farm-stay opportunities in the Carolinas. And, on the other side of the globe, our Farm Tour Coordinator, Leah Joyner, recently visited Colombia as part of a Farmer2Farmer volunteer assignment to develop agritourism in that country.
Enjoy,

Elizabeth Read, CFSA’s Communications and Development Director
P.S. We’d also love to invite you to see CFSA’s Lomax Farm on the season 4 premiere of A Chef’s Life on PBS. You can even join us at the premiere party in downtown Kannapolis on Sept. 11. |
