Putting this Stew together, I’ve been thinking a lot about Stone Soup. You know the story: Everyone in the village throws something into the pot and where there was once division, suspicion, hunger – a community grew. Growing, making and sharing food brings people closer together. For this edition, we celebrate two amazing organizations working to ensure that there is good food on every table: Farmer Foodshare and The Hawkeye Indian Cultural Center. Plus – great tips for eating organic affordably (with a recipe for party salsa!), good questions to ask your farmer at the farmers’ market, and lessons learned on the farm tour.
