The Xerces Society is all about solutions, which means that science is vital to our conservation efforts. You cannot establish conservation solutions for invertebrates without first understanding their needs and the issues that impact them.

To this end, we use applied science, research, and community science to understand the needs of the invertebrates that we protect, and we want to thank you for supporting us in these efforts. Your commitment to Xerces has allowed us to become the largest invertebrate conservation non-profit in the world!

But preserving Earth’s rich biodiversity will take more than just science. We can study every aspect of an animal’s life history, threats, and management needs, and still watch it slide toward extinction. Our goal is not just to learn about these animals, but to conserve them, and to do that we need to change human behavior.

We want people to value and revere insects, not fear them. We want communities to understand how important they are for pollination, for birds and fish, for building soils, and for life on this planet. We need individuals to act now to protect these animals and to participate in educating others to change their behavior as well.

Thank you for standing with Xerces and giving momentum to this movement. If you are able, please give a tax-deductible donation today to support this important work.

With your help, we are making all landscapes better places for bees, butterflies, snails, tiger beetles, freshwater mussels, fireflies, and the many small animals that make for a livable world.

Sincerely,
Scott Black
