Dear Rebecca,
I can’t believe that my six-month anniversary as CFSA’s policy director is coming up in a few weeks. To say things are much different than anticipated is the understatement of the year. I’m just glad that we had a fortuitously timed staff retreat the week before the world as we knew it shut down so I was able to meet my co-workers!
Over the last few months, CFSA has worked with an incredible array of allies to advocate for small and mid-scale farms, farmers markets, and others in the local food community. This work has led to farmers markets remaining open and the inclusion of agriculture in small business relief programs.
These efforts continue as we engage with Congress on two major fronts:
